We Believe in the Holy Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Although the word trinity is not in the Holy Bible, the scriptures speak of God being three persons in one (2 Corinthians 13:14; John 10:30; Luke 1:35; Mathew 28:19, 3:16-17; Genesis 1:1-2; 1 John 5:7-8). This does not mean we believe in multiple gods. It means that God has three distinct personalities that are equal to each other, and without each other, there is no God.
We Believe in the Holy Bible
We believe faithfully in the commands of God. We hold that all of the Bible is true and the truth throughout all generations. (1 Peter 1:25; Hebrews 4:12; John 1:1, 5:39, 17:17; Matthew 4:4; Psalm 12:6)
We Believe in the Uniqueness of Jesus Christ
We believe in one name under heaven whereby we must be saved, and that name is Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10; Revelation 3:20). We believe that Jesus took our place upon the cross to die for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:15; 1 Peter 3:18). He is the only begotten Son of God the Father (John 3:16), born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25) and the only sinless man to walk the earth(1 Peter 2:22; Hebrews 4:15;1John 3:5). We believe in His death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven (Mark 16). We believe in the living Jesus Christ sitting at the right hand of the Father. He will return to rule the earth in peace (Hebrews 9:28; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 19:11-21, 21:1-7).
We Believe in Baptism
We believe in the Baptism of water (1 Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16) and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit(John 3:5,1:33; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
We Believe in Spiritual Gifts
We believe in the administration of all of the gifts of the Father (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Romans 12:6-71 Timothy 4:14).
We Believe in Equality of Life
We believe that no one is more important or less important (I Corinthians 12:20-26). We are all one in Christ; whether member, friend or first-time guest, everyone is equal in the eyes of God.
We Believe to Lead We Must First Serve
We believe that all leaders must first be a servant to their own family and the family of God (Mark 10:42-45).
We Believe in the Right to Worship
We believe in the ability and rights of the family of God to worship our Creator in various ways (Psalms 47:1, 100:1-8, 150:3-6; I Corinthians 14:27-28, 39-40). You may see us raise our hands or even shout with praise during our worship times. This is a form of worship you may not be comfortable with, and we understand. Ocean Lakes Church places no expectations on anyone to adopt behavior to fit in. God loves us all right where we are. It is not our actions that earn His love but rather His love that drives our actions. There are no cookie-cutter people, and we are not cookie-cutter Christians.
We Believe God Has a Purpose and a Plan for Everyone
We believe that you are here for a reason. Every visitor and member adds something special to this family of God at Ocean Lakes Church (Acts 2:41). It is our desire to love you, as we have been loved, in order to fulfill the command laid upon us by Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35).
