Return to COVID-19 Response

It’s Not Over Yet

We have been in the midst of a monumental trial. Even with restrictions easing throughout the country, daily news reminders tell us that it will be a long time before we return to normal, if ever. It would be easy to become angry with God for allowing the pandemic to occur, causing hardship in our lives in various forms. Trials produce self-centered focus and draw our attention to how I can get through this rather than how God can get me through. Satan loves that kind of heart, a lot less work for him. The craziest thought is that God allows these trials to increase our conviction in Him.

God permits Satan to attack us in various ways to push us past our faith comfort level. Satan relies on his old tricks of deceit and mind games he has used throughout history. Have you noticed how Satan always goes in a cycle of the same personal attacks over and over? This time he is using a full-court press, going after the entire world for all to see. Know that God will reveal His glory in precision timing.

No matter where you find yourself within this crisis, it’s never too late to be still and lean into God. Renew your faith by lifting your heart to the one who determines the number of stars and calls them each by name. (Psalm 147:4) Pray and let Him know you are listening for His voice over the madness of this world. Let God hear you speak your feelings and needs. (Psalm 17:6) Open your bible and search His word for answers. (Romans 10:17). Pray, pray, pray. Know that God has the answer, and it will come, at precisely the perfect timing.

Isaiah 26:3-4 NIV, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD himself is the ROCK eternal.

Micah 7:7 ESV, But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
